Rest & Recharge: a 2 hour restorative Yin practice
Wednesdays with Yin Yoga teacher Sarah Jane Smith
6.30pm - 2 hours - $30 per session
Next date TBA
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style where the postures are held for longer periods to create moderate stress on the connective tissues of the body to improve circulation, joint health and flexibility. In this class, we use bolsters and blocks for support to encourage a deep physical surrender. This slow approach is inherently meditative and encourages quiet self-reflection, self-compassion and relaxation. We will begin the session with centering breath work and meditation to set your intention for the class. Working with a sequence of Yin yoga poses that open the body and the energy channels within we will move towards stillness and guided meditation for deep relaxation. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience. There will be a lot of stillness and silence and the studio will be at cozy room temperature so that you can truly relax.

Release: a TRE and Restorative Yoga Practice
with Yoga teacher Sarah Jane Smith and TRE Provider Mardon Dary
In this class, you will learn how to access a natural reset for balancing the nervous system and releasing tension and stress.
The TRE® method is a set of 7 simple exercises that were created by Dr. David Berceli. These exercises activate specific core muscles in the body that automatically tighten and protect due to stress. The intention of these exercises are to stimulate an instinctual shaking mechanism (tremor/vibration) in the body to release deeply held muscular tension patterns and bring the body and mind back to balance and harmony.
After practicing the TRE exercises you will settle into Restorative Yoga postures using bolsters, blocks and blankets to create shapes that you can completely rest in allowing time to deeply relax your body, improve your capacity for healing and balancing, boost your immune system and still your mind.
The studio will be warm but not hot. Dress in layers for your comfort. Please email with any questions

Write from Within: a yin yoga and journaling practice
with Yin Yoga teacher Sarah Jane Smith and Writer Claire Sicherman.
Next date TBA
Writing is one way of releasing emotion that we hold in our bodies and is a great companion practice to Yin Yoga.
Yin Yoga is slow paced style where the postures are held for longer periods of time to create a moderate stress on the connective tissues of the body with the aim to improve circulation, joint health and flexibility. This slow approach is inherently meditative and encourages quiet self reflection, self compassion and relaxation. With Yin Yoga we lay the foundation of openness in our bodies to let held emotions arise and then we journal with writing prompts. These prompts are designed to guide and support, allow for connection, reflection and sharing of writing, if desired.
In this workshop there is an opportunity to share what you have written so we open the session with a brainstorm around what the participants feel we all have to be aware of in order to create a safe space. In doing so, we co-create a supportive, non judgmental environment that fosters vulnerability, courage, deep listening and, ultimately, community as we take turns reading and listening without offering feedback beyond eye contact and a hand on the heart if you are moved by what you hear.
This session is suitable for all as no experience with yoga or writing is necessary. Please bring a willingness to participate, your favorite pen, a journal, and a water bottle. Please dress in layers for your comfort as this session is held at regular room temperature.
If you have any questions about the session or are wondering whether this offering is suitable for you, please email.
